The Gloria and Allen relief fund

Donation protected
My name is Johnny Grimes and please allow me to introduce Gloria and Allen Godwin, whose home was utterly destroyed in the May 27 tornadoes and storms passing through Deberry, East Texas. In the first photo, notice that the house is barely visible underneath the tree. They are lucky and grateful that they happened to have stepped out the back door when the tree fell. Now they are temporarily living with neighbors as they plan what to do next.
In 1994, I was 16 and homeless, wandering around in the cold and rain. These people took me in and loved and cared for me as one of their own. They never asked for anything in return. They put me on a path to eventual success, and I am grateful that God put them in my life.
That's just my story. There are many unwanted and unloved young people, mostly young men, that these people have touched. They gave selflessly of their time, love, and money, despite the death of their son Adam, and Allen's injuries and eventual disability. (Allen basically destroyed his body working for all of us.) Not to mention Gloria's declining health.
They raised me to be grateful for the people in my life, and I believe that many of us now have the opportunity to show how grateful we are for what they have done for each of us and the community at large. The lives they have touched directly and indirectly can never be counted.
