Pamasko Tales is here! UNIT Productions is bringing Winnipeg its first Filipino Christmas Panto called The Glitter Bird.
This holiday season, we’re flipping the script on tradition—literally. PAMASKO TALES is UNIT’s holiday series that takes a classic Filipino folk tale, dusts it off, and blasts it into today with wild characters, big laughs, and plenty of music and dance. Think fairy tale meets fiesta, with a cheeky wink and a whole lot of heart.

Inspired by the epic Filipino folk tale, Ibong Adarna, The Glitter Bird written by Primrose Madayag Knazan and composed by Dave Dagta is a modern fairy tale where music, magic, and silliness brings wonder and inspiration to a Filipino family in the barrio. The Glitter Bird is a glamorous queen of the forest who may grant a wish (or two), but only to those who prove deserving.
Bringing together emerging artists sprung from Winnipeg's longest running Filipino performing arts group - Magdaragat - this is the first of its kind!
With a tight but adventurous budget we’re looking for your help to raise a few more dollars to help us get:
- ASL interpretation and show descriptions - making it accessible to visually impaired and deaf audience
- a Marketing Campaign
- a boost in Production Costs (set, costumes, instruments, venue rentals)
