The Ginka Toegel Education Fund for girls in Africa

Dear SL Community

As you know, this year is the 20th anniversary of the SL programme. So many of us have benefitted from the programme and in particular from all Ginka gives. For the last 14 years, she has continued to share her wisdom pro bono in the Alumni Retreats. We wanted to create a way of saying thank you. We thought the best gift for Ginka would be the education of girls in her name.

We have partnered with BARKEWI POUR LA VIE to create the Ginka Toegel Education Fund where young girls (and a few young boys to keep it fair in the village) in Senegal will be supported to finish their High School Education in Ginka's name. 100% of the money raised will go directly to their education. They will be told who Ginka is, and each year send her a progress report of their studies. We thought this would mean more to Ginka that any material gift we could think of. For each person who is financed under the Ginka Toegel Education fund, Ginka will receive an update from them about their grades, what they have learned and their plan for the coming year.

Suggested donation 30-50-100...or more CHF/Euros (sorry about the automatic gofundme suggestions when you press donate-please ignore them and add the amount you want and set the tip to whatever level you want!)

With the donation, add a note which we will collect to make a big thank you card.

If we collect 16,000 Euros we will pay for 56 children to complete a year of school and receive the food they will need.

A further 2,700 Euros will allow 8 women to go to university for 1 year.

We secretly hope to raise enough (10,800 euros) to pay for all 4 years of university.
