Scott and I are blessed to know- and even luckier to be loved by- our mom, Joyce. She’s strong, independent, funny and full of unconditional love. If you know her, you also know she can be a little stubborn! That’s one reason why it took some convincing to get her to let those who love her show it back. True to herself, she doesn’t want attention, pity, or help. But that’s exactly why so many of us hold her close to our hearts. She’s always there for others, and it’s our turn to be here for her.

Our Mom was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer, and she’s undergoing treatments at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Thankfully, early signs show that her experimental treatments are helping. As part of this journey, she’s beginning to lose her hair. Scott and I both have long hair, and we will be cutting and donating it to make her a custom wig, a small way we can give back to a mom who’s given us everything. But we also wanted to create a place where friends and family can show their love and support in a way that reflets her spirit. We don’t need help with the wig itself; instead, this is our mom’s way of letting us- and you- return some of the love she’s always shared. She’s even dreamed up a little legacy project. Mom has mentioned starting a fund or scholarship at Mid Atlantic Equine Medical Center, dedicated to young people who have worked hard, saved for their own horse(s), and might need a little extra support for medical care.

Even now, she’s thinking about others and finding ways to give back. Any additional funds from this will go toward that scholarship, creating a lasting reminder of the love and kindness she brings to our lives. Thank you all for being here, for loving her as much as we do, and for helping us lift her up in the same way she’s lifted so many.
