The Genesis Project is a Christian-based nonprofit organization on the island of Grenada founded in 2019. Matthew 22:37-39 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” We believe the most tangible way the world can see us loving God and our neighbors is by living out this scripture in our daily lives.

In 2019 Cliff and I began to pray for God to use us for the furtherance of His kingdom, and at the beginning of 2020, the answer to our prayer came in the form of a message from a friend in Botswana, who informed us of the numerous needs in his country. But, it was through a meeting with the founder of a nonprofit organization in Botswana called the Nayang Association we learned of over 60 children living on the streets. These children have been cared for by an elderly pastor and his wife during the past few years with little outside assistance.

After seeking God, we knew this unexpected message from a friend was a door opened by God's hands. Two years ago, we began raising funds to build a home for children living on the streets, but these efforts were halted until recently due to the pandemic.

What we are doing

The Genesis Project will be traveling to Botswana to love on our neighbors, minister to and begin building a place where over 60 children can call home. We know our call to Botswana is to meet the spiritual and physical needs of some of the most vulnerable in the country; as scripture says, “whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). We believe through God and your help, we can change the course of the lives of these children and generations to come.
