As some of you who are close to Kaaden & Kendra’s family know, this year has not been their year. Kaaden’s baby sister, Morgan, had to spend months at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. After lots of extensive testing with little to no answers, Morgan was diagnosed with non-gestational trophoblastic neoplasm which spread to both lungs and also pseudo aneurysms throughout. She has had many surgeries, one removing her right ovary due to the cancer spreading. Shortly after Morgan returned home, Kendra started to have complications in her pregnancy. She had to deliver their daughter, Aliza, early due to having cholestasis. During postpartum recovery, Kendra hemorrhaged and needed an emergency D&C surgery. Kaaden had to work out of town to make sure bills were paid leaving Kendra in the hospital alone. After a week she still had very heavy bleeding and after another ultrasound, they found that her uterine lining had actually doubled and she was hemorrhaging again leading to another emergency D&C surgery within a week of the other. She had to be apart from both of her babies, Anders and Aliza, while Kaaden was out of town for work to make ends meet again, Kendra has slowly started to recover, but now Kaaden started to develop back pain in his left lower back. He tried his best to rest, ice/heat, and recover but it had gotten worse. He took the first week off of work hoping that would help heal him, as soon as he started to feel better, he started to get worse. Kaaden went to the chiropractor to find relief, but only leaving with pain shooting down his left leg leaving almost no feeling in his toes and barely able to walk. Kaaden took another week off work to try and heal and went to the walk-in where he was given a steroid shot and was prescribed muscle relaxers and pain relievers. This seemed to help for a few days but eventually stopped working. On Sunday afternoon Kaaden tried to stretch a bit to relieve some of his pain and about a half hour later Kaaden was on the floor screaming in pain. He couldn’t find a comfortable position and needed to go to the Emergency Room. Luckily his mother, family friend, and fiancé(Kendra) were able to get him up and in the back of the pickup and into the ER. While in the ER he had gotten steroids and pain relievers and was sent home. He did okay in the evening, but then as the night went on he started to get worse and back to square one. At about 4 am Kaaden went to use the bathroom and started having excruciating pain leaving him screaming on the floor again. His mother, brother, and fiancé were able to get him in the back of the car and to the emergency room only 12 hours after coming home. The doctors finally took his pain seriously and got him in for an MRI and X-ray. His MRI results weren’t what we were hoping for; he has a herniated disk and bulged disks surrounding. The results of the MRI led to speaking with a Neurosurgeon and he will need a microdiscectomy surgery to see if he can get any relief. The doctors advised that he stop working at his current job due to the stress it is putting on his body. Kendra is currently staying at home with both of their kids while waiting to go back for another ultrasound and a hysteroscopy to dig deeper into her uterine issue, this also being a risk of potentially needing a hysterectomy in the near future. Kaaden is the backbone of their family financially, and now he will need to take weeks if not months off to properly heal. Kaaden & Kenda's family has been through so much this past year with illnesses, missed work, and ongoing medical bills. Not to mention the mental stress and heartache. If you are able to donate and help them during this time, it would help immensely. Even saying prayers and keeping them in your thoughts for God to heal all of this illness would be so appreciated.
