The Gawlak Family

Hannah and Craig have been enjoying life together with two busy little boys. However, their world changed suddenly this last week when their sweet 8-month-old Eli was diagnosed with mixed-phenotype acute leukemia (MPAL). This week alone Eli has been through several procedures to help make an accurate diagnosis and get rid of excess white blood cells. He received a dose of chemotherapy into his spinal canal and has been on high-dose steroids.

While reeling from this unexpected news, Hannah and Craig haven’t left Eli’s side, rotating shifts between hospital life with Eli and time at home with their energetic and concerned 3-year-old Dylan. Eli will likely be admitted to the children’s hospital for the next month while chemo gets started and likely for extended periods of time thereafter.

In the midst of all this, Hannah has stepped away from her job as a critical care PA. While neither Hannah nor Craig would ever ask for help, this is a time in their lives when they need their village. We want to make sure they are able to eat, drive between the hospital and home, pay their bills, and spend time with their incredible boys as much as possible without money being one more thing to worry about.

This is going to be a long journey for the Gawlaks and they’d appreciate your prayers for health, endurance, and peace. Thank you for surrounding them with your love and support!
