Hi, thanks for visiting this page. This is Ethan and Landon Gardner, a 19 year old freshman at Harding University and a 17 year old senior at Beebe High School. We’re the eldest of 4, with a younger brother and sister trailing behind at 6 and 14 years old. Until 2009, our dad had a very well-paying job as our mom raised us. Around that time, he was laid off and couldn’t hold a job for very long afterwards. Due to 2 failed neck surgeries to address some missing vertebrae in his neck (Os Odontoideum), he now lives in chronic searing neck pain.
A few years ago he finally began receiving disability compensation. However, with my mom now working a low-paying 7th grade teaching position at a public school and dad living at home on disability, we struggle to make ends meet most months. They don’t make enough to support us most of the time, but we’ve been surviving until now.
Our parents this recent summer made an attempt to get caught up on some mortgage payments and paid a considerable amount of money to do so. This allowed them to qualify for a repayment program that would fix that home-threatening situation. Unknown to my parents, and for whatever reason the company had, they were denied this program. And the company didn't say a word about it since summer or the deadline for it until 3 days before it threatens our home with foreclosure. This purposeful misinforming of a family, in a shady attempt to gain money, now threatens to make our family homeless. Though we're not 100% informed on all the legal and financial details at play here, We know our parents can’t do this without outside help. This is worsened by an upcoming expensive surgery our mom will have to undergo in order to heal her shoulder. I’ve (Ethan) personally been with my family this past weekend and have seen my dad distraught and crying almost all day on Saturday upon receiving this news. It breaks our hearts to see our parents in such a helpless position when all they want to do is keep their children safe and happy. We know it’s last minute, but any donations to help us would mean the world. If you can’t help out in that way, sharing in any way possible is just as helpful. Thank you so much for your support. We love you.
