Tyler's road to recovery- help support the Garcia family

On June 6, our amazing 20-year-old nephew, Tyler Garcia, suffered a severe brain injury. He was immediately life-flighted to Utah Valley Hospital where he went into cardiac arrest and suffered many other internal injuries. Despite being in the ICU for 9 days and doctors giving him very little chance of surviving, he miraculously began showing signs of improvement. After 12 days, he was moved to a different facility in Salt Lake City for further observation. This has been a challenging time for the family emotionally & financially.

Adding to the challenges, on the second day of Tyler’s hospital stay, his mother Rachel had to undergo emergency surgery for appendicitis. She recovered in the hospital alongside Tyler, further straining the family’s emotional and financial resources.

Medical expenses can quickly become overwhelming in critical situations like this. The last thing we want the Garcia family to worry about is the financial pressure of mounting medical bills. They need to focus on Tyler's healing, his recovery, and caring for their family. Tyler’s journey ahead includes outpatient therapy not covered by insurance, making the financial strain even greater.

Tyler is a beautiful person who has done so much for so many of us & the local community over the years. He loves the arts–acting, singing, and dancing–and has brightened the lives of so many through his talents. Additionally, he loves music, Disneyland, spending time with family & friends, and photography. He lights up the room and makes people feel so special.

His parents, Tom & Rachel, are the most selfless and giving couple we know. They have opened their home for long periods to family & friends who were down on their luck or struggling mentally/emotionally/financially, they donate countless hours to their local schools, and they help neighbors and strangers with service and home repairs when they need it the most. They are truly incredible.

We believe that Tyler has a great purpose here on earth that will positively impact so many, and his remarkable progress is a testament to his strength and the support of those around him. We humbly ask for your help. No donation is too small and every contribution matters.
