The Gap Year Project

What is The Gap Year Project?
The Gap Year Project is a year long journey to many parts of the world including Europe, Asia, and Africa, in which I, Josh Rempel, set out to determine whether a gap year can really be a worthwhile experience for high school graduates such as myself. While travelling I have chosen five questions to reflect on, and plan to share what I learn with continual blog posts and video updates on my website. My hope is that this journey may not only be a chance for me a grow, but a legitimate educational tool for others.  If you're interested in further details, feel free to check out my video.

Why Donate?
The Gap Year Project isn't only about me!  Although this journey will certainly be a great opportunity for personal growth, I am going to be sharing what I learn along the way with others. I have made the effort to develop a website as a platform to reflect on my five questions, and explore the benefits and drawbacks of a gap year for others to see. To reflect I will use frequent blog posts and video updates, with a minimum of one new video being posted every two weeks. In my videos I will talk in depth about what I've learned thus far, and may include interviews of locals as well. 

Where is the Money Going?
My budget for this trip is $8000.00 CAD.

Flight Costs: $3500.00
Living Costs: $2500.00
Potential Further Exploration: $2000.00

$6000.00 will be going towards rough plans that are already in place, but I've left room for an extra $2000.00 that could allow me to travel to further locations, giving me the chance to share the perspectives of even more cultures with others on my website.
