The Future of Trans Liturgical Theology

My story begins in 2013 when I was baptized as a Presbyterian. I had been an atheist my whole life. I believed that I had to live piously and I did by volunteering at the church. In 2016 I realized I was trans. It's taken around 11 years to reconcile my faith with the reality of who I am. My life changed again in 2023 when my anxiety became uncontrollable. Being unable to edit and write nearly killed me if it weren't for my faith and ability to draw abstract art thar kept me alive.

It's taken a Master’s of Divinity and the last few years to learn that not only am I trans I have extreme anxiety that could cause depersonalization and dissociation. It's taken this time to try to continue my call to ministry by stepping into the world of academic study.

I have been accepted to Columbia Theological Seminary where I will complete a Master’s of Theology while implementing liturgical theology and systematic theology into the words we use for God. I've studied over 100 names for God in the biblical text only to realize that there IS room for gender neutral ways to address God. If these names exist in the Bible then Trans people are welcomed by God. You can read more about my ideas on God and trans people at my website.

I'm asking for $5 or more to cover a housing deposit and travel costs. I was awarded the Community Award that covers my tuition.
