At Ethiopian Spelling Bee. For the past 5 years, we have been providing various educational activities to students from 1st to 8th grades in 2900 schools and more than 500,000 students throughout Ethiopia.
These programs provide our students with opportunities to enjoy their school activities while learning to value and interact with other students.
Our program runs from September until May, and beginning this upcoming year, it will be expanded to include students from 1st to 12th grades. As we are preparing for next year, WE NEED YOUR HELP...
Our students take part in variety of extra-curricular activities including:
* Spelling and grammar enriching program
* Debating program
* History Bee
* Geography Bee
* Short story writing program
* Developing and Sustaining reading habits (books prizes)
* Participating students are given books to read and own it as their own as to encourage to BUILDING AT HOME LIBRARIES.
" Why I like Spelling Bee? I like spelling bee because you will learn more new words. New words widen your brain for you. and by the way you should read new books. Books are good for you especially for the spelling bee. The first time I saw spelling bee was when my bigger sister was competing, she stood fourth, but I think I will stand first." Student Aya, grade 6th.
Our Students experience
My name is Abdulkarim Nejib. I am a grade 5 student. I have had spelling bee experience since a year now and I have been in one competition and won it. Spelling bee's on inspiration of life which is supposed to be felt by everybody. I have felt the feeling winning in a spelling bee competition which as one of the greatest things in my life. I want this feeling to be in permanently, when I remember how I won, I feel like being reborn happiness can't describe this special feeling, and I want it to be a part of my life because when I think of it I feel like I am more than a human being. When I won I remember my classmates hugging me and I remember they didn't let me even breath, so it also reminds me of my friends.
I am now in grade 5 won in grade 4, so I want to win again and be breathless and be hugged by friends and remember this moment for the rest of my life.

ABOUT ETHIOPIAN SPELLING BEE
For the last 6 years, Ethiopian Spelling Bee has been conducting spelling bee programs for students in primary schools in Ethiopia. These competitions help discover Ethiopia's best young students; make spelling fun for children of all ages and help parents and teachers develop their children's talents as they learn.
OUR MISSION
To advance the benefits of spelling and reading. We strive to promote, encourage and provide supportive and positive learning environment in which every child has the opportunity to develop life lasting skills, which in turn fosters self-confidence and personal growth.
These programs provide our students with opportunities to enjoy their school activities while learning to value and interact with other students.
