The future of Char'd City...Help us build a bar

Please help me to save our beloved Char'd City! Not unlike many others.... I really hate asking for help!! I will suffer pretty hard.... and for a really long time in order to make things work on my own.... so... just so it's known... I am quite uncomfortable in writing this post. However, this is my last & final effort to ensure Char'd's survival & see my dream of Char'd City's restaurant, bar and lounge into fruition.
In an effort to live my truth I have decided to be completely transparent in telling my story... and the story of my business. In September of 2018 I signed my first business lease, and my husband Yassine and I began designing and creating Char'd City.
There was no inheritance, no old family money, no business loan or investors, literally no financial help to speak of.
For approximately eight years I just worked and saved and worked and saved. I knew I wanted to invest in something that really mattered! I knew I wanted to have great food and craft cocktails, an artistic vibe, lounge seating & of course live entertainment. I wanted a place to bring people together, an all inclusive & inviting atmosphere....a space to uplift and spread fun & positive energy...a place to break bread with new friends or bond over dinner with the family. I always felt that if there is one thing Baltimore city needs it is a place where you can get great food AND drinks AND see live entertainment all at the same time... AND late night.... until midnight at least. I dreamt of a place where you can experience something ...rather than the same "Fells Point cover bands" in the same tired rotation. All I know is I was willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen & I put in ALLL the chips!!
How ironic....here I am after working on this goal almost four years later...after almost two and a half years of operating on my own through a separation, throughout many government shut downs, the pandemic... & a literal worse labor shortage crisis than I ever even could've imagined!! Here I am. I'm right here at the 11th hour, training new staff, making new menus and creating the bar & I am just...out of funding.
I am kindly asking for your support!! My ideal and safe goal is $10,000.
No matter what happens I just want to say I have taken so much pride in working with the Baltimore youth... in mentoring teenagers and teaching valuable lessons they can take with them for life. I have given people in recovery a second chance to rebuild their lives career. We've had a work place that embraces diversity & individuality when it comes to the LGBTQ community, or when it comes to having multiculturalism in the work place. We make an effort to give patience and understanding to employees suffering from mental health issues. Mostly we take pride in representing our charming North East Baltimore community. It's been our mission to contribute something valuable & unique to our beautiful Hamilton/Lauraville neighborhood. ❤ Cheers, hopes & prayers to the continued growth of the Char'd City family within our lovely Hamilton community.
