On February 16th, our dear friends Kaylan and Paul Funk experienced every family’s nightmare: an accidental house fire. We are so grateful that everyone is safe (including the pets!), but the damage to their home is extensive.
While the structure of the house stands, the damage of the fire and smoke spread throughout both floors, leaving the home uninhabitable. Their kitchen, first floor, and some of the second floor require a full-scale restoration. Because of the pervasive smoke and soot, nearly everything inside—furniture, clothing, beds, and the girls' toys—is currently unusable.
The Funks are now facing at least six months of displacement while the restoration team works to make their home safe again. While they are working closely with insurance, the immediate out-of-pocket costs of starting over from scratch are overwhelming. With a new baby boy arriving this May, the pressure to rebuild a sense of normalcy for Shiloh and Murphy is greater than ever.
We are raising funds to help Paul and Kaylan bridge the gap during this transition. Your donations will go directly toward:
• Baby & Toddler Essentials: Replacing toys, gear, and necessities for Shiloh, Murphy, and the new baby arriving soon.
• Daily Necessities: Clothing, toiletries, and basic household items for the entire family.
• Housing Stability: Covering temporary lodging and deposits until a long-term rental is secured.
• Recovery Costs: Essential items and expenses not immediately covered by insurance.
Any amount, no matter how small, helps this wonderful family breathe a little easier.
