The Funeral Arrangements of Timothy C. Burks

Timothy “T Rock” Burks passed away at the age of 51 on February 13, 2020 at Methodist Germantown Hospital after a long battle with Chronic AS.  Many may not have known, but Tim suffered from a rare spinal disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) which led to a him having major back surgery where the doctor left a surgical instrument inside of him.  After experiencing more health issues due to this traumatic experience, Tim was forced to have more surgeries on both hips, knees, his neck and eventually an amputation of the leg.  The past 20 years was extremely difficult for Tim as he regularly found himself ill, hospitalized and/or in the care of nursing facilities which were not always in the best conditions.  On Thursday, January 16th, Tim’s father (James Burks Sr.) suddenly passed away.  Tim was released from the hospital on Friday, January 24th and attended his father’s funeral on Saturday, January 25th.  One week later, Tim was admitted back into the hospital where he suffered serious infections of the lungs and kidneys.  He attempted to remain in good faith, but became overwhelmed with this way of life. At this point, he knew that he could not continue to “live” like this despite of what others believed because this was no way of life.  The illnesses, medications, doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, surgeries and most importantly being isolated from so many of his loved ones had taken a tremendous toll on Tim and his finances which led to a lack of life insurance.  Everyone who knew him, knew that he loved his family, friends, The Dallas Cowboys and B.T.W. High School and it is our hope that we can all pull together to provide an awesome homegoing service for such a dedicated family member, friend, fan and alumni.
