Hi. My name is Agata Sierkowski. My son, Todd, 30 yrs. old, has blood cancer. This cancer, in medical terms, is called "Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL)". It is a subtype of acute myeloid leukemia. Todd was diagnosed while going to the emergency with COVID symptoms. Todd's treatments include blasts to kill all the leukemia cells, chemotherapy, and daily blood transfusions. Even under the best results, Todd will be in the hospital for 2 months. If treatments are only partially successful his hospital stay will be longer. Currently, Todd is blind in both eyes and is enduring great pain. You can imagine the financial strain that is overwhelming Todd and his family. Todd has debts, such as his mortgage, that he can't pay because he can't work.
