Hi my name is Dympna, and I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in June 2021. My journey over the past 18 months has been extremely challenging, but I feel very fortunate to now be in a position to be able to give back and thank the amazing community at St Luke's. I am forever greatful for the amazing care and support I received there. This October I will be taking part in The Friends of St Luke's sponsored walk in Vietnam.

The Friends of St Luke's are a charity that do incredible work to raise funds to improve facilities and support research at St Luke's Radiation Oncology Network. The goal of this fundraiser is to raise funds for projects and equipment within the St Luke's Radiation Oncology ward.

Cancer is an unfortunate reality that impacts so many individuals and their families. Almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by this disease, whether through personal experience or a loved one's battle.

As part of my cancer treatment I had to undergo radiation and spent countless hours in St Luke's Hospital. I know first hand how devoted the staff are at St Luke's Hospital. They not only provide medical treatments and therapies but also emotional and psychological support to the patients and their families, to help them through extremely difficult times. Without these vital funds raised by The Friend's of St Luke's much of the care that goes on at St Luke's Hospital would not be possible.

I would be extremely greatful to anyone who can to donate to this cause, so that St Luke's can continue to provide comprehensive care to its patients. Every contribution counts and can make a huge difference in improving the facilities at St Luke's so that they can continue to support those that are battling cancer.
