Hi my name is Brooke and I am hoping this fundraiser will help provide a little bit of relief and ease the burden of ongoing life for my sister Sydney, her husband Antione, and little Nevaeh while their world seems to be standing still. Any contribution helps!
On May 27, at 12:51am Miss Nevaeh Monroe Frazier joined the world a very early 27 weeks. She weighed a fragile 1lb and 1oz.
On Friday, Sydney thought they were going to a typical high-risk weekly check up. They went in knowing there was a chance she would have to be hospitalized until delivery as the entire pregnancy has been high risk. After that appointment, the doctor told them to head to the hospital and Sydney was to be admitted to strict bedrest to keep baby Nevaeh inside of her. After being there for about 3 hours, getting into a room and seeing a doctor, Sydney was 4cm dilated…then quickly became 6. Sydney had planned for a natural delivery, they were going to break her water and she was going to push! Everything seemed calm until it wasn’t. After Sydney had her water broken, Nevaeh’s heart rate dropped and Sydney had a placental abruption. The doctor came into the room with Sydney’s lab results, showing she was in acute kidney failure, and her liver enzymes were at a dangerous level immediately follow. Sydney’s body was starting to fail and she had HELLP syndrome. She had 30 minutes to deliver, and the only answer was an emergency C-section. Antione couldn’t come to the operating room so he had to sit in the hospital room, and Sydney had to be put to sleep hearing “Her heart rate is so low we can hardly find it. ” in the background as she was laid on a table with 20 doctors to be cut open and a mask over her face to be put to sleep. They had absolutely no time to prepare for this situation!
After 5 days in the hospital, Antione and Sydney went home today. There is just a pain that’s unexplainable having to leave the hospital after delivering a baby with empty arms. Sydney will be pumping her mommy heart out, knowing that’s what she can do for her right now.
We already love this little fighter so much! Thank you for taking the time to read this and contributing in any way whether that be prayers, good vibes, or monetarily.
