A dear friend of mine recently has been going through the most difficult time with her family. Her mother has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and is currently going through Chemotherapy where it has been a difficult reality. She is a single mom raising four kids on her own the oldest (my friend) being 22, the middle sister 18, the brother 17, and the youngest 16. I currently have two of the sisters employed where I am, trying to give as many hours as I can because they need all the money they can get but they are limited, as my dear friend is trying to provide for her family she's had to sacrifice a lot of her schooling but with help I know she can get back in and reach her goals. It's been tremendously hard because these kids are not given a chance at being kids when they have to speed up their growth in order to help their mom. The mother has not been guaranteed her job due to not being able to physically do her job because she has been out for too long with her chemotherapy sessions and it has put the mom in a more stressful situation wondering how bills might be paid or whether she has money for her kids school events or being able to do laundry or even the simplest of them all buying groceries. That is the hardest for a parent wondering how you might feed your kids. If we can come together and help this family it can ease the stress on the family who can just focus on getting a full recovery without the worry of buying food, bills, school, every day needs, etc. Let's reach this goal together, if we can even go beyond it we would forever be grateful.
