The Forrest Fund

I’m setting up this GoFundMe for my beautiful friend Christina, and her 1 year old son, Forrest.

As many of you might know, the Manning family recently and unexpectedly lost their beloved Victor— sweet, loving and supportive husband to Christina and nothing short of a phenomenal father to their son Forrest. I have had the enormous blessing of knowing Christina and Victor for many years now, long before they became one. Victor was a man of honor, righteousness, honesty, and was full of joy. He didn’t have a mean bone in his body, and never missed a chance to shine that goofy, tender, beautiful smile of his. He was quiet, reserved, for those who didn’t know him well. But with Christina… the love was so palpable you could see it in his eyes. He certainly wasn’t reserved with her and never missed an opportunity to share this passion for life with her—especially his love of fishing and the sea, which they both understood in a way only they could. The love they shared grew exponentially by the second, and soon after the wedding bells, little Forrest followed. I have never seen Victor as proud as the day Forrest was born. Being that pillar of support in the family was not always easy but Victor always fought to ensure they felt loved, cared for, and safe. Christina and Victor made so many plans for their family, and to be able to give Forrest every opportunity life could muster.

Many have lost much with Victors passing, but especially his wife and son, who are now left to pick up these broken pieces in the midst of their grief. Due to the suffering that comes with such an unimaginable loss, I would greatly appreciate any monetary assistance to help ease this financial burden that now falls solely on Christina’s shoulders.

Unfortunately, Victors life was cut too short, yet he will live on in spirit, in Christina and Forrest, and in all of our hearts. He was the most remarkable husband and father, and also a brother, cousin, son, and friend. Thank you for anything you are able to give to help make sure Victors dreams for Forrest remain a reality. Know that your kindness is much appreciated as they navigate this heartbreaking moment.

And from the bottom of my heart, to both the Mendiguren and Manning families- to all of Victor’s friends and loved ones- my heart is with you. It was an honor to know him and have him in our lives. We will miss you terribly, Victor, and we will love you, always.
