My name is Salma, and I live in Reading, UK. I have set up this campaign for my dear friend Reham and her parents, who are living through unimaginable suffering in Gaza.
Reham’s father, Mohammed Enaya, is 64 years old and suffers from severe high blood pressure. He urgently needs medication, but during the war in Gaza there is no access to the treatment he requires. Mohammed and his wife live in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, and like so many elderly people, they have become the forgotten ones in this crisis.
They have lost everything. Their home was badly damaged in the bombing, forcing them to evacuate. They tried to survive in a tent, only to be displaced yet again. For a short time, they stayed with their youngest daughter, but not wanting to burden her — as she too is struggling with her own family — they made the heartbreaking decision to return to living in a tent.
Before the war, Mohammed supported his family through a small supermarket, but it was completely destroyed. Now, with no income, they face each day struggling to find food, clean water, and the most basic necessities. His wife, once healthy, is now weak and constantly unwell. The fear, exhaustion, and harsh living conditions have taken a devastating toll on them both.
This tragedy has also deeply scarred their daughter Reham. She writes:
“My life has been turned upside down by the war. I recently lost my beloved little daughter after being exposed to white phosphorus attacks. I myself inhaled the toxic gas and suffered serious health damage. No mother should ever have to witness the loss of her child in such a cruel way. On top of this tragedy, my father is suffering from severe hypertension. Because of the siege and the collapse of the healthcare system, he cannot access the medicine he urgently needs. Every day is a struggle for him and for us as a family. We have also lost our home, our savings, and any source of income. Now we are left with nothing but pain and the hope that compassionate people around the world will stand with us.”
These are the people we cannot afford to forget. They urgently need help — for medication, food, and the basic means to survive. And if possible, the chance to find safety.
Please donate or share their story. Even the smallest act of kindness can bring hope to those who have none.
