The Flamingo Project: A Living Elegy for a Flyaway Bird
Flamingo. Rock. Majestic and Oft-Mythologized Bird Baller. The greatest and most badass Bird who’s ever flown.
Our Heather, who left us for her final flight on September 5, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer, lives large in every one of us. She gifted us her big, unrestrained, magic-Bird energy. Her bravery, creativity, and humanity. The superpower of seeing into the hearts of everyone she met and making us feel like we could accomplish anything.
The Flamingo Project will honor Heather’s spirit and legacy with a living elegy—an art installation and memorial burn at the place she called Home, the Playa, in summer 2023.
We need lots of help getting it there and appreciate your generous donation in honor of our beloved Bird.
