On April 23, 2023, Howard Women's Rugby made history as the first HBCU rugby club to ever win a regional title. On May 6-7, 2023, Howard Women's Rugby will have the opportunity to continue to make history by being the first HU women's sport to bring home a national championship.
Below are a few highlights of what the team has accomplished over the last year and a half:
- Top 2 in the Nation
- East Champions
- First HBCU in any rugby National Championship
- Media appearances in the Washington Post, CBS, and The Root
Even though we have seen a tremendous amount of growth and success over the past two years, we are still considered a university club and do not have the financial resources to support a trip as costly as nationals.
Below are the costs we are looking to cover for a roster of 23 Players, 4 Coaches, and 1 Manager:
- $500 per person flight
- 2 nights at a hotel
- 2x fifteen-person vans for 3 days
Please help Howard Women's Rugby with travel and lodging expenses in Houston, TX so they can compete in their well-deserved spot in the National Championship on May 6-7.
