The first Congrès Mission in Tours

Greetings everyone!

One of the most exciting events this year for Céline and I (after the birth of our son Irénée in March) is the opportunity we took to participate in the organization of the Congrès Mission Tours (Missions Convention in Tours, France). The Congrès Mission is a festive weekend centered around Jesus and his followers' call to share the gospel. Céline and I are leading the Support Team which includes everything from finances and fundraising, communication, sign-ups and social media. We are thankful we are not alone!

This is the first time that Congrès Mission is taking place in Tours. Since 2015, it has mostly been organized in Paris and since 2021 it has taken place in different cities in France. This year it will take place in 8 different cities around France of which one is where we live - Tours!

The heart and vision of Congrès Mission is to encourage the Church in its missonal call to share generously the gospel of Jesus, to train Christians how to talk about their faith with their family, friends and colleagues and to network within The Village which hosts different Christian associations who are actively on the frontlines of this calling.

This year in Tours, we are hoping and praying for about 2,000 participants that will be able to pick and choose from a rich program of 6 round tables, 120 workshops and 3 different evening services. The full program can be found online in the link below.

So why are we raising 40,000€ ? Put simply, there is a price to quality. In order to make this weekend as attractive and accessible as possible to the participants and in order to finance the logistical themes (sound systems, projectors, banners, prints, meals, etc.), we rely mainly on the financial support of generous donors. The weekend is also financed by ticket sales, offerings during the services and stands sold to associations that will be present in The Village though it is not enough to cover all the costs. This is why we need your support!
