Hi Friends,
I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping my best friend Neon, a passionate 16-year-old mountain biker, after a devastating loss.
Just recently, Neon had his bike stolen from the back of his dad’s car. We had stopped at In-N-Out after a ride, and while we were inside for just a few minutes to grab food, someone took his bike right off of the rack . A man came into the restaurant asking if anyone owned the car with the bikes on the back. When I said yes, we sprinted outside to find that Neon's bike was gone.
We’ve searched tirelessly, but the chances of getting it back are slim and morale is low.
This loss hits especially hard because Neon already lost his home and most of his belongings in the recent Eaton Canyon fires. He considered himself very lucky to have saved his most precious possession, his mountain bike, from the fires. His bike was more than just any old bike to him, it was his way of healing, and connection during an incredibly tough time.
Mountain biking is one of the things that brings him real joy. He rides almost everyday and loves it. Neon is the kind of person who always lifts up those around him, and now he needs our help.
We’re hoping to raise around $4,000 to replace the value of his stolen YT Jeffsy Blaze with a bike of similar quality so he can get back out on the trails where he belongs. Every dollar will go directly toward purchasing a new bike for Neon.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for considering a donation. Your support would mean the world and would give a great kid a much needed reason to to ride trails again.
With gratitude,
Oscar
