The firefighters of Corfu

It has been an agonising summer in Corfu watching massive areas in the North east of Corfu being destroyed by raging fires. Firefighters, the army, and local people were working around the clock to put fires out in highly challenging temperatures. People and animals were injured in the process.

We are all completely in awe of these brave and dedicated firefighters who risked their lives every day in extreme conditions.

The Corfoit community and visitors to our island have a huge amount of gratitude to the firefighters and volunteers who have saved the lives of both people and animals, as well as homes, mine included.

So it is with this in mind that we would like to start a fund to help buy some much needed equipment- breathing apparatus and hoses being top of the list.

Please help us buy equipment by donating whatever you can in order to help improve conditions for the firefighters.
