The following is the obituary for Trever A. Murphy. A beloved son, brother and friend to so countless many.
Trever Murphy, 28, of Columbus, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 12, 2019.
Trever worked at Orange Township Fire Department and St. Albans Township Fire Department, former Trainer/Preceptor for the EMS/ Fire Program at CSCC and former Captain of Critical Care Transport.
He is preceded in death by grandfathers; Hugh Daugherty, Orlan Murphy, Jack Hardin, grandmothers; Donna Murphy, Bessie Daugherty, Uncle; Paul Daugherty and 2 cousins.
Trever is survived by his parents; Kathrine Murphy Hardin and Gary Hardin, brothers; Joshua Murphy, Garrett Hardin, and Jacob Hardin, estranged wife; Madeline Shields, grandmother Pat Hardin, aunts, uncles, cousins and a Loyal K9 Companion; Bailey.
Trever graduated from Westland H.S. 2009 with Diploma of Honors as 15th in class of 326 and was a member of Junior and National Honor Society. Trever lettered in Baseball, Band (Jazz, Marching Band, Symphonic, and Drum Line) as an avid trumpeter and drummer and received the John Phillip Sousa Award for excellence in music. He periodically performed with the Aladdin Shrine Band with friend and music mentor Robert Harris. He continued directly to receive a Degree in the Paramedic Program at CSCC and obtained Top in Class with Academic Achievement August 1, 2013. Lastly, he completed an Associate Degree in Fire Science Program Nov 7, 2013. Trever is a member of the Ohio Department of Safety and Division of EMS, a member of the National Association of EMTs and IAFF Local 3816.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 1 pm – 3 pm and 5 pm – 8 pm at Cypress Wesleyan Church, 377 Alton Darby Rd, Galloway, OH 43119. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10am with burial service to follow at Africa Cemetery.
The Family is asking for donations to help cover any funeral and head stone costs that exceed insurance coverage. Additionally, in Trever's memory, any proceeds exceeding those expenses will be directly given to Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters , to help our local Ohio Firefighters battling stress, depression, anxiety, and PTSD through a representative elected from the Orange Township and St. Alban's Township Fire Department.
Let us stand up in Trever's memory. Send him off with dignity and bring awareness to the importance of First Responder Mental Health Issues. Lets help fund a local support system so that our first responders are able to stay close to their families, friends, and their brotherhood.
