Sister, Mama, Mother (this one always makes me chuckle as I hear it in my memory of how Jess and Brad say it. If you know, you know) Peg, Mama T, and last but not least the latest dubbed by TriState hospital's amazing staff, and my current favorite, Wonder Woman. No matter the name if you know her you instantly love her. Peggy has opened her heart and her doors to so many people throughout the years. She met NO strangers. She frowned down on no one. Her generosity and compassion have impacted so many lives including my own.

My heart breaks as I try to find the following words...

This beautiful "Mama" has fiercely been battling cancer for some time now. She has put this disease in its place and powered on to live her best life praying daily for the absolute miracle we all wish for her. Peg has since received the news nobody has wanted to hear. Her cancer has come back with a vengeance. Her wonderful providers have done all they can to heal her. Her loving family has exhausted all resources to do the same. The focus now is to keep her as happy and comfortable as possible.

She is now facing the inevitable while her family continues to stay by her side through it all. Peggy has chosen to check out of the hospital to make one more trip to the best place on earth, her most favorite place, the Oregon Coast. She will be surrounded by her most cherished of all, her Family. This is her wish.

Peg's family is doing everything they can to make this trip happen. Jess has had to take an extended leave from work over this last year as she would NEVER let Peg go through this without her. I know this has hit home financially for her but there is NO other place Peggy's kids would be except by her side through the rest of her journey. Watching the relationship between Peg and Jess through the years only validates the love that is neverending between a mother and a daughter. Jessie is Peg's biggest advocate, caregiver, and last but not least best friend and confidant (she is definitely cut from the same angel wing that her mom came from) followed by her son Brad, grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as a group of remarkable women she is blessed to call "Sister".
