Hi everyone! My name is Tyler Duke, and this is the crowdfunding page for my upcoming short film "The Final Straw", a dark comedy that exists in a slightly exaggerated version of life.

 

Concept: After getting "cancelled" on social media for throwing away a drinking straw, Jake must deal with the consequences of his actions, both public and private, as his world spirals into chaos.

 

This film balances two important messages- a plea for environmentalism, and a commentary on cancel culture. Arguing that we are so distracted by the toxic complexities of the internet that we are ignoring the world dying around us, so we need to focus our collective attention elsewhere.

 

I believe in this film, I think it matters, and I hope you will too. Any support, no matter what size, is beyond appreciation. It all goes towards making this happen: cameras, costumes, permits, etc.

 

Production starts this summer, with the finished product coming at the end of 2022.
