Asking for Prayers and Support for Our Second Son, Rowan CJ!

Our family is experiencing an unexpected, emotional journey and we are reaching out with humble hearts to ask for your prayers and support for our son Rowan, Preston and I (Reece).
While visiting my family out of the country amid Preston’s work travel, I unexpectedly began experiencing signs of labor on Sunday February 15th. At that time, I was only twenty-four weeks pregnant, and I had my father take me directly to the hospital at first concern while my mother stayed home with our first son. While I was not having any active labor symptoms, the doctors evaluated me to be 6 cm dilated. My father and I began the process of obtaining an emergency medical air evacuation back to the states, I was ordered complete bedrest and admitted into the ICU. We attempted to do everything in our power to get me quickly on a medical flight back to the states; however, the companies were unable to schedule a flight until February 18th.

I continued to be monitored for progressing symptoms as we attempted to get my husband to be present as soon as possible. In the early morning of February 17th symptoms began to progress and we requested immediate presence of the obstetrics and neonatal team. Upon evaluation, it was deemed I was 10 cm dilated and our son was moving head down in a ready position to be delivered; however, because of an infection and his size we were recommended an emergency C-section.

At this point, they prepared me for surgery and my father remained by my side for the whole process, until Preston arrived and made it to the final stitching process post-delivery.
Rowan was born at 9:38 am on February 17th at 1 lb 13 oz and quickly stabilized by a neonatal team and taken directly to the NICU for care. He was welcomed into the world with the song “Lord Send Revival” on in the OR room and those lyrics ringing from both my father and my lungs.

Prior to delivery, the neonatal doctors informed us babies at this gestational age have a 20% chance of making it through the first 72 hours of life. We did not even know if he would make it out of the delivery room, and we are blessing the name of the Lord for every day he lives and grows stronger.

We are now counting every hour a blessing from the Lord and experiencing our prayers being answered every single day. We must remain in care of this international hospital as we allow Rowan to grow stronger and develop to a more stable gestational age. Because we are international it has brought on an additional complication when it comes to finances and we are humbled by the support others desire to bring us from afar.

We have already been so blessed by the Lord’s army and feel the coverage of prayer warriors going to war with us and petitioning the Lord on behalf of our family and Rowan.

Thank you for covering us in love, support, and prayer every single day.

**We are only asking for dollars that we have either already spent or that are in upcoming hospital bills that we have incurred up to this point. At this point we do not have any clarity on how much assistance we will receive from insurance because we are under the care of an international hospital. Thank you, again!**
