Do you know Jerry Dufour? Well let me tell you what matters. It's not age, or upbringing or even a hometown that he's from. When you're asked if you know someone we tend to look for some dramatic backstory leading up to the present. Well, all that is what MADE Jerry....but it's not him. Jerry Dufour is a family man. He's a friend. A neighbor. He puts his family before all else and anyone who's ever met him leaves knowing they've made a new friend. His biggest success is not how well he did his job but how well he's raised his family and loved his wife. They are the first family to sign up to help, the ones you can call at any hour and know someone will listen and genuinely care. Jerry is the father of 3 beautuful children that show us daily what proper parenting and unconditional love can achieve. Have you ever met a 6yr old who goes out of their way to ask how you are feeling that day? I have. Because that is but a small example of the kind of person he has raised. Your children lead by example and that in itself should tell you something.
With that being said let me tell you why they need our help now more than ever.... Christmas of 2015 was a hard year for this family. Jerry's company that he had worked soo hard for needed to let him go so they could afford to expand. (Boy did they screw up) Later in 2016 their family was hit with yet another hardship....his beautiful wife Raquel recieved a call that her parent's car had been struck by a school bus that ran a red light. Sadly, her father passed away from his injuries soon after. Jerry then took his mother in law into his home with open arms and has done everything possible to help his wife and MIL find comfort and peace in such a diffuclt time for them. The end of 2016 would prove to be even harder. Jerry was believed to have suffered his first stroke. And then another......after countless Dr visits and emergency trips the Dr's believed that Jerry wasn't having strokes, but seizures from a possible tumor. In March 2017 the family discovered that Jerry has something called Glioblastoma. An aggressive and incureable brain tumor. The Dr's have given him 2 yrs. But they will fight. We will fight. Studies have shown many new and promising treatments to extend the time he has been given. Prayer warriors of the world will come together and be the strength that this family needs right now.
With this fight comes medical expenses... with this fighting comes day to day life and financial stresses that his family should not need to worry about in a time where important memories need to be made. We need to come together and help them fight for Longer hugs, a few more kisses, back yard barbecues with friends, dance recitals, birthday cakes and as many romantic dinners as you can squeeze in. Let us help the ones that have helped us and donate to a family who could not be more deserving, grateful and humble. Thank you for hearing their story....and thank you for your help!
