So for those of you that don’t know , my name is Kaila Sommer; I’m a single mom of 3 dependents .. an amazing 17 year old daughter and 2 fur babies , Cali and Prada! Recently my family was given some very upsetting news, Cali has caner! Yep, that C word we all pray we never have to use. If you’re still reading I want to give you a little history into my girl and our relationship. Cali is a 9 year old pitty that has been with me since she was 8 weeks old. She has become my Best Friend, my Protector, my emotional support animal and my velcro baby! Anyone that knows Cali knows what an AMAZING dog she is. She is PERFECT and not just because she is my dog! She is the perfect example for the breed, an ambassador if you will. Terrified or not EVERY person that has had the pleasure of meeting Cali has left with a love for the breed that they didn’t have before. Cali was diagnosed with Fibrosarcoma which is a very aggressive but localized type of cancer! Unfortunately due to the location and aggressiveness of her mass action needs to be taken immediately. Her mass is connected to the roof of her mouth wrapping around the front of her teeth measuring about an 1.3inches in length and growing rapidly! With the surgery required, her survival rate is extremely high along with many more years of love to give. The problem is, with how soon this needs to be done I’m struggling to come up with the funds for the total cost of everything needed. With that being said, I’m only asking for help with is the minimum estimated cost ($3300) of the MRI that is Required to determine whether or not it has spread to her bone which will then determine the extent of the surgery required to save her life. As much as I hate asking I have to try. My girl deserves that and so much more.
