The Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

Thank you for stopping by our fundraising page to support my mom, Amy. Recently, my mom had an operation to remove what the doctors believed to be gallstones that were causing a bile duct blockage. During their scans and procedures, they found what appeared to be a pancreatic mass. After more scans and biopsies, it was confirmed that my mom has pancreatic cancer.
It was a major shock to us; we were all heartbroken that she has to face this at just 47 years young. There isn't a lot of buzz in our society about this condition like some others, and I hope we can help create awareness. 55,000 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year, and it is recognized as one of the toughest cancers to overcome. We refuse to let my mom be just another statistic.
If you know Amy, you know that she is young at heart, beautiful, and full of spunk. She will fight this and we will help her every step of the way. This week she is at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota with some of the most experienced, forward-thinking physicians in the field and she will receive the best care possible. Soon we will know what their course of action will be, with chemo-therapy and a major surgery being of high likelihood.
