This may be the hardest thing our family has ever had to write. In February, we had to hear the most devastating news every family prays they'll never have to hear, Cancer. It breaks our heart to share that it has hit our home, yet again. Our beautiful 16-year-old niece, Joselynn, has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The cancer was found in her lymph nodes on her neck and chest.
This has shattered our whole family beyond belief. No family should have to go through this, but when it targets one of our babies, the pain seems unbearable. Thankfully, our God is so good and on our side; the doctors have shared that this cancer is curable after a few rounds of treatment.
For the past several weeks, Joselynn has been undergoing chemotherapy and we are amazed at how strong she has been during this painful process. She is our fighter and we pray she is cancer-free very soon. Our sister Cheli and brother Jose have been her rock, along with her sisters Julianna and Janeli.
Needless to say, medical insurance only covers a portion of the expenses and the family is left with a big financial burden.
Our current COVID-19 crisis has only complicated matters, but at the same time, we have to look at the silver lining. We are grateful our sister Cheli has been able to be by her baby’s side 100% of the time during her chemo treatments.
Many have reached out on how you can help, and that is why we find ourselves creating this account. We know these are hard times for everyone, but this is one way that you could help Joselynn’s family. We are indebted and grateful for every prayer and any support you are able to give. With our love, the Arroyo / Cruz family.
