The Fever Pitch Pilgrimage
Donation protected
My name is Taína Asili—a singer and interdisciplinary artivist—and I will be walking from Albany to NYC for climate justice, collective healing, and a just future. From Sept 12–27, 2025, I’ll embark on the Fever Pitch Pilgrimage—a 150+ mile walk where each day I’ll offer music, intention, and partnership with local social and climate justice movements. Will you help support my journey?
Each day, several of my artistic collaborators and I will walk an average of 15 miles to a city where we will give a song offering—a moment of music and intention shared in partnership with local social and climate justice organizations to uplift the interconnected issues of climate, migration, incarceration, war, racial, and gender justice. I will also perform my full multimedia show Fever Pitch—a fusion of live music, dance, and video centered on climate justice—at select community spaces in Kingston (Sept. 16), The Bronx with BombaYo (Sept. 23), and UPROSE Brooklyn (Sept. 26). Each performance will be offered for free or at a sliding scale, and will include a community conversation to deepen reflection and dialogue. We are being guided by a council of advisors that includes seasoned peace walkers, marathon runners, physical trainers, and spiritual leaders, and will be joined by other guest walkers along the way.
This pilgrimage comes at a critical moment of climate collapse and political chaos, where we urgently need spaces to gather, to share strategies, to grieve, and to vision and move towards a just future. The Fever Pitch Pilgrimage is both a creative offering and a movement intervention: one that centers cultural work as a tool for building shared wisdom and collective power. As the walk traces the path of the Hudson River, the wisdom, strategies, and prayers gathered from each community will flow with us like the river itself, culminating in NYC during New York Climate Week.
After NYC, the pilgrimage will return up river (via electric car) with a final song offering at Rise & Root Farm (Sept. 27) at a benefit for The Black Farmer Fund where we aim to offer a collective gift from the funds we raise. A Fever Pitch performance and pilgrimage report back will be held at The Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, NY on Oct. 4.
My Goal: $10,000
Your support will help:
- Accommodations and meals for my team during the two-week walk
- Production costs, including equipment and artists fees, for 5 free/sliding scale community performances
- A collective gift to support The Black Farmer Fund
