Support for Blake Fediw & Family

IMPORTANT UPDATES - BOLDED

Blake Fediw is my son's teammate on the Juan de Fuca Minor Hockey Assoc. U15 Tier 1. In the past week Blake came down with a sudden illness which initially had him hospitalized here in Victoria and this past weekend was flown for treatment at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. Blake has yet to get a firm diagnosis but is currently receiving treatments through intravenous steroids and plasma exchange (PLEX) or intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG).

Daryl & Jen have been travelling back and forth between Victoria & Vancouver to ensure one of them is at Blake's side while he receives treatment. As you can imagine they are facing many expenses including travel, meals and missed work. We want to alleviate some of that pressure so they can focus on Blake and his recovery.

The Fediws are avid volunteers and supporters of minor hockey in the greater Victoria area both with JDF Grizzlies and the CRFMHA Reign. In this uncertain time, let's come together to help support this family. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Blake is continuing treatment at BC Children's Hospital. He was excited to receive a few visitors from our team earlier in the week. From Jen, Blake was FaceTiming with all the boys right now, they are working in the library for hockey academy…. He’s perked up !

The good news is, the planning stages are underway to work through how things will look like for Blake's eventual return home to Langford. He will need the continued assistance of family and friends, especially to get around once he gets home and with the use of medical aid equipment for mobility.
