On behalf of my family, I am looking to raise money to help pay for uninsured medical bills due to Lyme Disease, and a new place to call HOME.
The day after my oldest daughters birthday, I was served eviction papers from the father of my children. We have been living in our home for 17 years. In 2016, a downward deviation was given on my child support order- this deviation went toward the mortgage on the home. I don't have any legal right to the property because it isn't in my name. A couple weeks ago the Judge ordered an eviction, even though it is a retaliatory eviction. This entire case was not dealt with properly, especially when there are minor children involved. I know he has a right to sell the house, or do with it what he wishes, but he is a parent and his children's well-being should come first, no matter what.
I have been working two jobs. Unfortunately, I will be losing one of them in two weeks. Although there truly isn't any affordable housing in my area, it is very important to me to keep my children in the same school district as my son is a senior and my daughter has an Individualized Education Program.
We also have uninsured medical costs due to 3 of us being diagnosed with Lyme Disease. If Lyme disease is detected early, it can be treated with a long course of antibiotics. However, if Lyme goes undetected and is misdiagnosed, a course of antibiotics does not kill the bacteria and a person is left with debilitating symptoms. As insurance companies rely on policy and guidelines in making coverage decisions, insurance companies are not obligated to cover the treatment of Lyme Disease.
It is very hard for me to ask for help, but I have found myself in a desperate situation. Thank you for any help you can offer.
