The Fandom Season 2

Donation protected
"The Fandom" Season 2 is a continuation of the journey we started a couple of years ago with our feature film, "The Fandom." Where the movie touched on the history of our vibrant community, the series will focus on its contemporary members exploring what it means to be a furry on a deeper level than ever before. We want to make this project a continuing series for the channel for as long as you want to see it, BUT that requires the right resources to make it happen. The series will be done episodically, 30-45 minutes per episode. Each episode would be carefully crafted, researched and produced for OUR community. I have assembled a team of researchers, story producers, and industry talent within the fandom to achieve this goal.

We cannot make the fandom season 2 without YOU. Let me summarize the numbers from our film "The Fandom" to illustrate our needs better.

OUR COST WITHOUT including my financial investments in the project amounted to approximately $39553

AFTER KICKSTARTER FEES, we received a total of... ARE YOU READY FOR IT: $29058

Starting to see the problem?

Imagine splitting a salary of $29k between 5 people for a YEAR. This excludes my husband and I, by the way, because we did not get paid. This also doesn't include the cost of travel, food, or incidental expenses that inevitably come up on productions.

I want to avoid operating like this because it is an unsustainable model. These are passion projects, not money-making endeavors, but I cannot and will not ask my team to work for free.

I am here to ask you to help make this show a reality. I want a budget to work with this time to do this right. One of the most significant limiting factors of the film was the necessity to do interviews at cons which are always rushed, and inevitably you miss some people in the process. I want to spend several days with our subjects on the ground and in their communities. This is crucial to storytelling because it allows us to engage with our subjects for more than just a fleeting moment in time. The goal is to explore what it means to be furry in the United States and worldwide.

I am committed to working on these projects for as long as you will have me. Ultimately it comes down to Community; it is the key to this project. I want every single one of you to participate in this project. YOU can influence the direction in which the story goes. YOU can help us find the topics YOU want to learn about. We are ultimately here to serve the community as a conduit to educate and entertain.

If we can reach our goal of $75k, that should cover the production of up to seven 35-45 minute episodes in the series. I understand this is a lot to ask for, but I promise it is well worth it. If you enjoyed "The Fandom: Season 1", "The Fandom: the movie," or our documentary "Hero," then please consider supporting us in this endeavor.

This is also about something bigger, A dream. I want to create a queer film studio where we focus on the stories that matter to us in our community and have agency over the stories being told instead of exploitation. Where we can craft our stories from a perspective of a deeper understanding of our human truths; ULTIMATELY, I want to empower others in our community to create and tell stories that traditional media could never tell. I believe this is step one of a thousand in that direction, and it all starts with YOU!
