The Family of Shane Robert Kitsul
Donation protected
Shane passed away unexpectedly on June 20th, 2024 at Chilliwack General Hospital with his family by his side. Shane lived his unfairly short life with humour, sarcasm and mischievousness. Shane made a profound impact on his family, friends and co-workers. He was always caring and thoughtful. He had such a kind and playful soul. His connection to his family and friends was so genuine, filled with love, respect and selflessness. Shane was known for his sense of humour, quick wit, contagious giggle and smile that could brighten the darkest room. His absence is felt by all who knew him.
Each day the family is trying to live their lives and find their next steps without him here. His presence is missed with each passing moment. This past month has been filled with nothing but sadness, grief, loss, memories, confusion, numbness and heartbreak. As a family, there are many different hardships that they have had to face.
They have had to go through his home and car to sort through his things. Shane’s place was cleaned and emptied. This was incredibly difficult for the family to say goodbye to all of his things. Shortly after that, his car was detailed, but there are still bi-weekly payments being made on his vehicle. The vehicle also needs some repairs which is an added financial strain, but necessary, until a plan for the car can be made.
While going through Shane’s place, the family discovered that his cat and best friend Floyd, had become noticeably ill. Floyd was once the whole family’s cat and later, gifted to Shane. Floyd became his baby and best friend. Floyd had many different issues and after an appointment at the vet, the family was informed that they suspected the cat had cancer. Floyd was, mercifully, put down five days after Shane passed and they are together snuggling and watching down on all of us.
The additional costs have continued to pile up during this time which has created a great burden on the family. All of this while the family has been struggling to process this unexpected and confusing loss. When something like this happens it can affect a family in many ways.
We are asking for some external support such as, your kind words, love, support and funds to help them with the unexpected financial burden this has placed on them.
As of right now, the family has had to pay for everything out of pocket and it has added a level of stress that is not needed at this time.
Thank you all in advance for gracing the family with your support, kind words, and love. We would also like to ask people to share this link and are grateful for any future contributions received.
Thank you all for your love, generosity and kindness.
