The family of Kristin Kane

Donation protected
I am devastated to share the loss of my sister and the mother of my precious nephew and niece, Kristin Kane.

I first met Kristin 13 years ago when she and Mike came and stayed with us for the week at our house in Wallkill - my kids were itty bitty and Kristin was amazing with them and an absolute pleasure in every way. She was smart and strong and loving and fun and funny. I fell in love with her immediately. I very much hoped that her relationship with Mike would last and she would officially become my sister. She and Mike moved in together and a few years later decided they wanted to become parents. I remember talking to Kristin about her wanting to try and get pregnant and how excited she was to become a mom. A short while later they were pregnant with my nephew Olin who was born on February 24, 2012. Kristin and Mike were so happy.

As everyone who has become a parent knows, life changes when we have the new responsibility and reality of a baby. We are sleep deprived and we've never known the heights of love and the depths of fear possible that a baby brings. Relationships become harder to nurture, both our relationship with our partner and our relationship with our self. It is so common to lose oneself when we become parents.

There were many challenges for Kristin and Mike in those years and both did their best to stay positive for each other and for their son. It wasn't easy nor was it a smooth. They made it through and almost 6 years later we were all blessed with another beautiful baby, Mabel, who was born on December 29, 2017. Kristin and Mike were so happy to have a new little girl. Kristin loved her kids so much and I know how much Kristin and Mike loved each other. Both did their best to stabilize their relationship but unfortunately it wasn't ultimately possible. Often separated and struggling over the last three years, there were still beautiful family memories and so much love and hope.

People have been asking how to help Mike and these precious kiddos... this GoFundMe will go directly to them to ensure these kids have the most stable transition during this sad time. Anything is appreciated. So much love, Pam
