The Family of Jose Adolfo Hernandez

Donation protected
Jose Adolfo Hernandez was my beloved father that passed suddenly on January 2nd, 2020 in his home of La Sauceda, San Diego de la Union, Guanajuato, Mexico.

He was born on April 2nd, 1963 to my paternal grandparents, Jose Hernandez Castanon & Maria de Refugio Garcia. As a young child, he learned tough lessons growing up that shaped him into the strong man that we was. He believed in hard work, hard labor, bringing it to the table for his family. In early life, he lost his father and then his mother. His goal was always to have a better life in adulthood than he did childhood. He crossed over from Mexico to the United States seeking that better life. As an immigrant, he knew he faced a hard road ahead but he had faith.

My parents met in the small town of Plano, Texas. My maternal grandparents were the ones that helped bring them together. He married my mother Maria Elena Guzman on March 4th, 1988. There united love already is what brought me into this world in October of that same year. Since that day, my father Jose Adolfo made sure that always had a roof over our heads, food on the table, clothes on our back and life. He would work tirelessly day in and day out through the hot Texas summers and bitter cold Texas winters. No matter what, he was always doing something with his hands, never sitting down but always moving forward. In the most of ways, he was a jack of all trades. He knew many things, from fence building to plumbing, roofing to just about any manual labor you could think of. He was our Superman.

In 1996, Jose Adolfo became a citizen of the United States. It was his working dream come to life. He was able to live a normal life as a productive citizen and be able to provide that better life he always worked toward. At the end of 1999,  he moved the family to Garland, Texas. Then in April of 2004, he and my mother brought their first home that they lived in for the next 16 years together. It is the family home, full of many memories and a lot of the things that he collected.

My dad's passing is something that were did not see coming. This was unexpected to us. He was away taking care of his ranch home in Mexico. Jose Adolfo was a dialysis patient, who had to have treatments 3 times a week for 4 hours a day.  He had just had one the day before he passed. He was not feeling well the next day and had a heart attack that he did not recover from.

This GoFundMe is set up as a way to donate to me and my mother to help out with both funeral and after costs. My mother just laid off of her job on December 31st, 2019 before his passing. So with her being out of work, it puts a strain on things even more financially. My mom did have a policy on my father that helps cover most of the service costs. However, many of you reading this have reached out wanting to give as an offering. There is no minimum on our end, if you wish to donate, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Know that this money will be used properly for my dad's final expenses. I will be in charge of coordinating with my mother the use of it as needed.

I will post updates as I have them and receive them. Thank you all for your condolences, love, reaching out and support.
