With a heavy heart today, we are sharing the passing of our friend and teammate, Jesus Ruiz Barrera. Jesus passed away on 7/11 at 3:30 pm unexpectedly of natural causes. Jesus will be missed by his family, friends, and co-workers more than the words I can express in my limited abilities.
Jesus is best known for his easy and genuine 1000 watt-smile. Jesus always took the time to say hello, offer assistance to anyone who needed it and had a work ethic second to none. Jesus was a family man who was the first to share his pride and love for his wife Maria and four beautiful daughters, Victoria, Natalie, Iris and Abby. His lasting effect on everybody who knew him is nearly impossible to measure. The way Jesus expressed his genuine joy for life in how he carried himself was contagious, to say the least. It was impossible to be in a bad mood around him. Jesus, you will be missed.
On behalf of his family, and with their permission, we are establishing this fundraiser to support his family during these very difficult times.
We ask for your support in helping to honor Jesus by supporting the five people he loved the most. We are hoping to raise funds to help pay for the memorial services but also to help support his teenage daughters as they navigate high school and his wife Maria as she beats cancer which she has recently been diagnosed with. Thank you for any assistance you are comfortable giving while his family embarks on this unexpected journey.
This fundraiser has been set up, with all funds going directly into his daughter's account. Your assistance will be seen and felt immediately by Jesus's family while they need it the most.
Update: To celebrate the life and in loving memory of Jesus, there will be Mass on 7.18.22 starting at 10am in the Historic St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (599 NW Lava Rd, Bend OR 97701). Following Mass at Baird Memorial Chapel & Crematory (16468 Finley Butte Rd LaPine OR 97739) there will be an open casket and reunion from 12pm-3pm. The family hopes you can join them to share stories, memories, laugh, cry and remember this remarkable husband and father.
