The Family of Jaida McMahon

Although we are not sure of Jaida current condition, we are aware she’s had repeated spinal taps with little relief. The doctors have diagnosed her condition as Idiopathic Cranial Hypertension from Pseuotumor Cerebri, meaning her body is fighting a tumor that isn’t really there. She has severe headaches from fluid build up in her cranium. The family has been at Texas Children’s for the last few weeks.

It seems the aftermath of the 2nd lumbar spinal puncture (spinal tap) has put Jaida in a series of headaches and in & out of pain. The pain medication works well until pressure from her head snatches her from her sleep.

As any parent knows, the hardest part is watching your child suffer and not being able to do anything to help.
