This past weekend, a golden heart stopped beating. David Dressel passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 12th at Riverton High School. To know Dave was to love him and to be loved by him. He was one of the most genuine, kind, and happy souls to ever walk the earth. The school where he worked, the school where he shared his love of science, the school where he made a difference every day by influencing both students and staff members, the school where his Hawk Pride shone unbelievably bright. His smile and energy lit up the room and you couldn’t help but start your day off on a bright note as he greeted the students and staff each morning with a good morning, a joke or a fist bump. A husband, a father, a son, a brother, a teacher, a colleague, a friend: he had unwavering support for all and made such a huge impact in the lives of all who knew him. He could always be found in the stands at sporting or academic events cheering on the students and even made a lasting impression as the coach at a faculty/student basketball game. Dave was also present at choir and band concerts supporting the students who shared his love of music. And oh, did he have love to share. He loved his wife Heather, their children and family, his students and teaching them, his friends and colleagues, and his community. Dave loved hard and lived life to the fullest.
