The Family Nest Fest Fund

Folk by the Oak's 'Family Nest' Fest is a not-for-profit virtual festival of music, art and well-being.

Money donated to the 'Family Nest' Fest Fund will be split 50/50 between the charity Willow, who provide special days for seriously ill young adults, and the participating musicians, so many of whom have lost their livelihood due to the recent situation. 

Over the last 12 years Folk by the Oak festival have raised a phenomenal £81,000 through ticket contributions, the generosity of the crowd on the day, and further donations, all going to support Willow's vital work. With no festival this summer Willow are facing a real blow to their fundraising efforts and we couldn't let a year go by without supporting them in some way.

Since 1999 Willow has fulfilled more than 17,000 Special Days for young adults living with life-threatening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and Huntington’s disease.

For some, their Special Day is the opportunity to return some normality to their lives. For others it is the last chance to fulfil a dream. But for all, at what is the most difficult of times, a Special Day can lift spirits, reunify families and be a source of strength when it’s needed most.

Musicians
The live music sector has been hit incredibly hard by recent events. The future is uncertain for so many performers and their teams, and this festival is an opportunity to share in the joys of their talent and show them we care.

The 'Family Nest' Fest goes live on 19 July 5pm at www.folkbytheoak.com and will be available for 1 month. You can donate any time from now until 19 August 2020.
