My name is Casey Valdez and I'm starting this GoFundMe page in honor of my Cousin, and best friend Erica Valdez. Erica battled with epilepsy for 12 years and never once did she complain about it.  She went on to graduate High School with a 4.3gpa, graduated from San Luis Obispo with a Bachelors of Arts in Business, and at the time of her death, was enrolled in the Radiology Technician Program (DMI) at the community college of San Francisco.  It was there that she found her true passion.  
Erica's hard work and determination for achieving her goals, was a blessing and a curse.  Often times when she was stressed or when her body was run down, she would be more susceptible to having seizures.  As difficult as it is to imagine having to go thru this, she persevered and continued to love and excell in her program.  
Our family acknowledged the joy that this program brought to Erica, so after her passing her parents and brother started a scholarship fund at CCSF through the DMI prorgram.  My goal is to raise $3,000 in two weeks that will be given to CCSF to distribute as a scholarship, on behalf of Erica Valdez. All donations will go directly to this scholarship and will be greatly appreciated!  Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
