There have been a lot of people reaching out wanting to know how they can help Kay and her family during this difficult time and with her blessing, I have created this page for those who wish to donate or just to send positive vibes, prayers, and good wishes. On Sunday, May 14, Randy experienced an accidental fall and hit his head while he was riding scooters with their boys. His fall has resulted in a TBI placing him in a coma. Due to the nature and location of his injury, his prognosis is very unclear. He responds physically to Kay talking to him, but in order to allow his body to heal, his medical team is keeping him pretty sedated. Their primary goal at this moment is keeping him comfortable and minimizing his body’s stress response. Today, he had a tracheostomy placed in an attempt to eliminate the discomfort of the ET tube and to make the process of weaning him off of the ventilator easier when that time comes. Randy and Kay have been together for 18 years and are the parents of 2 beautiful boys. Randy has served as a United States Marine for 15 years and had recently received orders to relocate. Their family was in the process of relocating prior to his accident and Kay had already resigned from her job in preparation for their move in 2 weeks. Ultimately, this is the beginning of a very long journey for the Epps family. Kay has seen all of your messages and facebook posts and she is grateful for the outpouring love and support from all of you and asks that you continue to lift Randy and her family up in your thoughts and prayers. There is something to be said about prayer in numbers and if anyone deserves a miracle, its them!
