The Empire Live! @ The Brick

Hi, my name is Aeneas Sagar Hemphill. I'm a playwright based in DC and NYC. I've got a play going up at The Brick in Brooklyn from August 4-6. I'll be sharing the night with the brilliant Jess Barbagallo.

For my part, I will be showcasing a stand-alone excerpt from a new project: The Empire Live! It's an epic Brechtian satire of globalization and the war on terror. This part will be from the perspective of a government transitioning from the defeat of one Global Villain to the rise of the next.

I'm raising money to produce this play, rent rehearsal space, and pay my team: an ensemble of 3-4 actors, a director, designers, and, if resources allow, me (?).

We can use all the help we can get. Please support risky, radical (and fun!) independent theatre.
