Isabella Early is a survivor and had thrived with her husband Demetrius Early assisting single moms, domestic violence survivors, the homeless and youth nearly a decade through the non-profit company Phree Project. Despite the couples’ different backgrounds and cultures, the two have entered a journey together to make a difference in the New Mexico community and beyond. That came to a standstill as Isabella was victim of an accident in 2017. Known to family and close friends as Bella, Mrs. Early’s health declined severely, but she was able to make some progress and regain some once lost function.

Unfortunately, this was short lived as Bella was AGAIN victim to a vicious hit-and-run collision in 2019.

Bella's health began to decline rapidly from this accident compounded by previous injuries sustained from the separate collision in 2017.

Isabella now has difficulty walking and uses an office chair to get around the house. She can no longer help maintain the Early’s home and requires her husband Demetrius, to help her with self-care, maintain the home on his own, all while working full-time and still manages to try and help those in need. He does so without complaint.

The injuries sustained from these accidents has culminated in a nasty mass in her lower pelvic region. The mass has caused Bella to lose the ability to close her legs, walk, and drive. She is constantly in pain because of developing pressure blisters due to poor circulation from the mass. Bella develops painful blisters that continuously need to be drained, putting her at risk for infection and sepsis. Due to the mass and its everyday swelling and heavyweight, simple tasks like going to the restroom and bathing have become extremely difficult if not impossible without her husband. In Demetrius’ absence during work, Bella must use an office chair to get around the house because of her inability to walk.

As you can imagine, Bella has begun to lose hope as her health and mental state decline more and more.

Demetrius and Bella have suffered financially with Isabella's health, as the insurance company refuses to pay for the surgery requiring a board-certified surgeon specializing in large skin removal- citing it as cosmetic and non-function related. Try telling a woman who has overcome Domestic Violence, Sexual assault, an Abusive Childhood, and teen homelessness that she now has no options, and not one, but two careless drivers have left this family broken and needing your help.

All funds we raise will cover the surgery, surgery aftercare, extended hospital stay, medical costs, travel expenses and two months of missed work. Anything above the amount raised will cover unexpected expenses, such as surgery complications requiring additional healing time.
