The Dugan's story- our story
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Deb Dugan. I want to share the story of my husband of almost 50 years. He was diagnosed with renal cancer 2 years ago next month. He had to stop the chemo pill due to an allergic reaction which put him in a comer for 2 days. Prior to being diagnosed he was working for First Student. He only got to work 2 weeks due to covid. Then when schools started opening again he got sick with cancer. He was able to collect unemployment for part of 2021. (which helped us Financially) Since then he applied for disability, but was denied because he doesn't have enough credits. In the last year and 1/2 we have been struggling financially to pay our monthly and medical bills. At this stage he has treatments every 3 weeks in Worcester. I am retired and it's been hard financially to pay our bills on what I receive monthly and he only gets a small amount from SSI. At this stage of his treatments he has been referred to Dana Farbar in Boston for what ever treatments are available due to the fact that he has been on Keytruda for almost 2 years and the known side effects are numerous after 2 years. We live with the combined knowledge that he has stage 4 terminal cancer along with the inability of paying our bills, The financial and medical stress has become overwhelming. We are reaching out for any donation no matter how small will help keep a roof over our head and his medical expenses continue. We have no choice but to stay strong under these circumstances. Thank you for reading our story.
